Our purpose at Highland Park Wesleyan Church is simple: We want to be disciples who go out and make disciples.
To Connect to God
To Connect to the Church
To Connect to the Community
HPWC – A great church to get connected!
The Wesleyan Church is an evangelical, Protestant denomination organized for worldwide outreach. Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Saviour of all who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.
About Our Senior Pastor and His Wife:
Pastor Gerry is a native of the St. John River Valley near Woodstock, New Brunswick. After graduating from Bethany Bible College (Kingswood University), he served as the Assistant Pastor for 8 years in Hartland, NB followed by a 4 year term as youth pastor in Roblin, Ontario. While there, he led a short-term missions team to Colombia, South America and felt God’s call to serve as the High School Bible teacher and later chaplain of El Camino Academy in Bogota.
During those 13 ½ years in Bogota, he was involved in ministry to a small recycling community and led many teams of youth on missions trips to various parts of the country and in ministry to the children of ex-prostitutes in the city. He was also involved regularly in teaching English to Colombians and ex-pats. It was through one of those classes that he met a beautiful young Colombian lady who soon became his favourite student and later his wife. Carina now serves alongside him at the Highland Park Wesleyan Church, using her multiple skills in crafts and ministry to children. They have been serving at Highland Park since 2014 and the church is so blessed and grateful to have them.
