Thinking about joining us for a service?
We welcome everyone and want you to feel comfortable being yourself.

Here’s what to expect on Sundays:

Coming In

Don’t be intimidated by the big front door! You’ll walk into the foyer where there will be people hanging around waiting for the service to begin. There may be kids running around and an old guy giving out gum. He’s friendly, promise. Feel free to help yourself to coffee and tea – and to bring it into the sanctuary with you!

Our musical worship time is a mix of hymns and contemporary songs with instrumental accompaniment. We include a biblical call to worship as well as a doxology after the offering.

Every first Sunday of the month we have a communion service. HPWC practices open communion: if you are a confessing believer in Jesus Christ, you are welcome to take part.

 Community Prayer

We pray for a different school and church from our community each week and lift up those in our congregation and community.

The pastor will speak on a biblical topic for around 25 minutes. Once a month the sermon is replaced by an interview-session with different people from the church to get to know their own faith stories.

After the Service

Stay and have a chat, grab another drink – people will linger for a while and would love to get to know you. Some people go out to lunch afterwards, and some have to leave right away. You do you.

Have Kids?

10:30  Kids Colouring packs with crayons and colouring pages are available in the foyer.  Our Nursery is located downstairs across from the kitchen and is open for all.

11:00  Children’s Church is offered for kids aged 3 – 11 during the sermon.  After the community prayer, offering and announcements, kids gather to the front with the pastor before being dismissed to their classes downstairs.

Junior High Group is a class run by Valerie Boehm and Nathan where kids 12 and over can make friends and discuss age-appropriate topics specific to their everyday life and issues. This group also meets during the service after the kids’ dismissal.
